Local Attorney addresses Harbor Club Ladies League

The Ladies League of Harbor Club held their first meeting of the new year last week in the Clubhouse. After enjoying a quiche, salad and dessert buffet luncheon Cheryl Martin called the meeting to order.
Debbie Cherry read the Nominating Committee’s slate of officers to be voted on in March. They are ~ Jeanie Folsom and Terry Subacz ~ Co-Presidents, Lois Miller and Dottie Suggs ~ Co-Vice Presidents, Karen McKnight, Secretary with Debbie Rigdon staying on as Treasurer.
Mary Beth Schmidt of the Social Committee announced the theme of this year’s end of the year party will be Black & White and held at the Harbor Club stables on May 20. Jane Phipps of the Activities Committee said that plans are being made for an outing to the Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon this spring. Brenda Hill reported that a four day trip to Myrtle Beach is planned for April.
Debbie Burns informed the ladies that there will be a Tour of Homes in Greensboro on April 29 to benefit the local Boys & Girls Club. Several homes and churches with Civil War and pre-Civil war histories will be on the tour.
Debbie Orr then introduced guest speaker, local attorney Jay Dell, who spoke on the importance of estate planning. Mr. Dell also handed out informative documents to the ladies listing information as to what might pertain to their personal situations. An informative question and answer period followed his program.
Drawings for door prizes closed the meeting; winners were ~ Brenda Hill, Mika Mills and Dorothy Partee. The February meeting will be held at the Clubhouse on the 21st.
