Pursued driver who crashed into, killed Oklahoma math teacher in critical condition

- An Oklahoma Highway Potrol accident reconstruction team assits Waukomis Police Department Monday in reconstructing a fatality collision that occurred Saturday night after a brief police pursuit.
WAUKOMIS, Okla. –– The driver who struck and killed a beloved Oklahoma math teacher during a police chase late Saturday night survived the crash but is listed in critical condition.
Chrisholm High School math teacher, John Marousek was killed after a driver hit his car head-on late Saturday night while fleeing from police in a small town in northern Oklahoma.
Waukomis Police Chief Robert Asch identified the driver as 23-year-old Beki Bajo, Jr. of Enid, Oklahoma.
Asch said Bajo is in critical condition at Oklahoma University Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Waukomis Police’ had been notified of a road-rage incident by Enid police, and were chasing Bajo, Asch said. Around 10 p.m. the car was seen by police traveling south in the northbound lane on US-81.
Several people posted on social media that they managed to avoid the speeding car.
Bajo did not stop when police tried to pull him over, Asch said. Bajo continued to flee from the police, again driving on the wrong side of the road.
He then struck a silver vehicle, killing the driver, who was later identified as Matousek.
No officers were injured during the pursuit.
