- Stamp Out Hunger
This year’s Stamp Out Hunger drive sponsored by the postal workers was a huge success. The Greensboro Post Office brought in 4,620 pounds and Union Point received 1,750 pounds totaling 6,370 pounds for the Greene County Food Pantry. The postal workers throughout the county were doing double duty that day delivering your mail in addition to picking up their customers’ donations. Pictured are postal workers from Greensboro bringing in one of the loads. ‘This food will be used to supplement our kids during the summer months,’ said Becky Smith, president of the Greene County Food Pantry.’ Thank you to the postal workers, Tom Potter and Carson Middle School, Greensboro Housing Authority and the many volunteers who helped make this possible.
