Lake Country tennis players ace 2018 LOTA Classic

The Lake Oconee Tennis Association’s (LOTA) 10th annual Open Doubles Tournament featured 88 players from Milledgeville to Madison and Greensboro to Cumming. It was held under beautiful skies on Sept. 21-23 in Greensboro. 

Competition included teams in the men’s 3.5 and 4.0 categories, as well as the women’s 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 divisions. 

Top players include Debbie Ivey of Buckhead, Sam Hollis of Milledgeville, Kathryn Benton of Monroe and Tod Gettys of Greensboro. 

The 2018 Champion doubles team players in the Women 4.0 division are Susan Brantley (Sandersville) and Sharon Ouzts (Eatonton). In the men’s 4.0 division, Jeremy Cash (Buckhead) and Sam Hollis (Milledgeville). 

In the 3.5 division, the men’s winning team was Jim Dagley (Eatonton) and Tod Gettys (Greensboro) while the Women’s Champions are Julie King (Greensboro) and Kathryn Benton (Monroe). 

In the women’s 3.0 division, the team of Ellen Shea (Greensboro) and D’Jean Carter (Greensboro) took home top honors. 

LOTA is a non-profit tennis organization that promotes tennis and provides opportunities for players to compete in Baldwin, Greene, Madison and Putnam counties. More information can be found at www.LOTATennis.com.
