On Dec. 15, Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the CSRA sponsored a “Magical Christmas Storytelling Event” with a book signing by children’s author Gerrie Sobel.

Sobel donated 100 percent of the proceeds from sales of her books, “Jacob & His Magical Flying Bears: A Christmas Story,” to Goodwill to help needy families in the community this

holiday season.

The book tells the story of one Christmas Eve where a little boy named Jacob makes

new friends with three special bears who take him on a magical journey to see Santa

Claus. Jacob has only one wish for Christmas — and it’s a big one! And only Santa has the power to make his wish come true.

“We feel very fortunate to have such endearing Goodwill Ambassadors who want to

donate their time, talent and treasures to help with our important mission,” said Ashley Brown, regional manager for Community Outreach of Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the CSRA.  “The Sobel Fund enabled Goodwill to reach families in our community that can really benefit from a little extra help this holiday season. The book is such a sweet story by a talented local author, and the proceeds of these books will directly have an impact on people’s holidays in our community.”
