Greene Co. Chamber welcomes former Gov. Nathan Deal as awards banquet speaker

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Multiple ticket options are available for the Greene County Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet on Sept. 5, including a VIP ticket option for a photograph with former governor Nathan Deal. The annual awards banquet will take place in downtown Greensboro at Festival Hall. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with a buffet dinner starting at 6:30 p.m. The event will be catered by Iron Fork Café, a local Greene County Chamber Member, with a cash bar available throughout the evening. Tickets are $50 for Chamber Members, $65 for Non-Chamber Members, and $125 for VIP Tickets that include a picture with Deal. 

Awards for Small Business, Large Business, and Volunteer of the Year will be announced and recognized. New this year, the Greene County Chamber Board of Directors has established the Mickey Channell Citizen of the Year Award, which will be presented to a member of the community that exhibits the attributes of a community driven servant, leading by example to serve the people of Greene County just as Channell served as a longtime public servant in the Georgia General Assembly representing State House District 120 from 1993-2015. Mr. Channell truly believed that public service was a high calling and was honored to serve the people of his district both locally and at the state level for 42 years. 

Former Gov. Nathan Deal will highlight the evening as they keynote speaker. Deal will provide insight into education and workforce development in rural Georgia as it directly relates to Greene County.
