Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church awards scholarships

On Monday, June 22, Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church recognized its 2020 recipients of Dr. Ellen Cauthen Utley Scholarships.
Dr. Utley was a member of LOPC before her passing last fall and was an educator throughout her career. She valued education and was very involved in her community and her church. This scholarship is for seniors who attend high school in Greene and Putnam Counties or homeschoolers who live in Greene or Putnam Counties.
The LOPC scholarship committee is pleased to announce the 2020 recipients.
Chase Crumbley attended Nathanael Greene Academy and plans to attend the University of North Georgia Oconee campus for two years and transfer to the University of Georgia majoring in construction management and minoring in music.
Lauren Ellison attended Lake Oconee Academy and plans to attend the University of Georgia majoring in journalism or political science and minoring in Spanish.
Samantha Geter attended Greene County High School and plans to attend Augusta University majoring in health services.
Ricquaria Griggs also attended Greene County High School and plans to attend Savannah College of Arts and Design majoring in fashion design.
Marcus Jefferson attended Putnam County High School and plans to attend Reinhardt University majoring in education.
Faith Ussery attended Gatewood Schools and plans to attend Georgia College and State University majoring in biology.
Congratulations to each of these young people and best wishes for a successful college career.
