Congratulations to Hasitha Mahabaduge, first place winner in the Toastmaster District 14, Division E, Area 54 Table Topics Contest.

What are Table Topics, you ask? 

It’s an exercise in extemporaneous speaking. The contestant is given a question and must come up with a coherent reply with only seconds to formulate the response. The answer must be framed in ‘mini-speech’ form, having an opening, body, and close. The speaker must also use all the Toastmaster skills of eye contact, gestures, vocal variety, proper grammar, elocution, and pace, and that’s a LOT to pack into a two-minute reply!

Toastmasters International is a worldwide nonprofit educational organization that empowers individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders.
