- Ladies in pink sporting CDC suggested masks.
The links were crowded with ladies in Pink when the Harbor Club Ladies Golf Association hosted its 10th annual Pink Ribbon Golf Tournament in October. Participants included ladies from Reynolds, Cuscowilla and Monroe Country clubs. This charity event is held to benefit The Lydia Project of Augusta.
The Lydia Project is a faith-based independent charity based in Augusta, Ga. that provides free services to women anywhere currently in treatment for any type of cancer. They also offer lodging services for women and teenage girls receiving treatment in the Augusta area. Locally, they aid women unable to afford basic expenses while undergoing cancer treatment.
Dale Fahey and her committee, Penny Davis, Mary Beth Schmidt and Linda VanDuzer, did a wonderful job of setting up the venue while working around this year’s COVID restrictions. No pre-party gathering or celebratory get-together after the tournament, using social distancing, wearing masks and having box lunches replace the annual pink décor tabled luncheons were the order of the day. They were also responsible for garnering more than 200 gift baskets and gift cards donated by Lake Country businesses and the ladies of the HCLGA for raffle prizes.
Despite these 2020 restrictions, the ladies enjoyed a beautiful fall day on the links with friends while raising over $16,600.00 for the Lydia Project!
