ATLAS Ministry

ATLAS Ministry is pleased to announce the new Spanish-language version of its website.  

With this new feature, ATLAS will be able to expand its educational and ministry outreach in Greene County.  

According to the 2018-2019 Georgia Report Card, 15% of the student base at Greene County Primary are English Language Learners, meaning the majority of their instruction is presented in a language these students are not fluent in. 

The newly designed website serves as more than a resource for answering common questions and registering families for ATLAS programs. It is an invitation to all Greene County families to get connected. 

“We are committed to working with ALL children and their families in this community. Though language can be a barrier, if ATLAS is to truly partner with parents and the schools to make our programs accessible to the Hispanic community, we have to find ways to bridge that gap” said Executive Director Ryan Gibadlo.  “The new translation tool on our website is going to help in that effort. I am also extremely excited about recently adding the ATLAS Language Specialist to our staff.  Idalet Lazaro has been an incredible addition to this team who has, and will continue to open up lines of communication for all of our programs, birth through adulthood.”  

Lazaro’s main job function consists of: translating and building relationships with current and future families, connecting them into ATLAS Ministry programs.

Lazaro is a recent graduate of Lake Oconee Academy and is currently attending North Georgia University. She is pursuing a degree in early childhood education and is passionate about children and her community. November 2020, she joined the ATLAS team as the Language Specialist allowing ATLAS to better serve the community at large, including Spanish speaking residents. She is specifically focused on Early Learners at this time but will be expanding into the Christian Learning Center in the coming months and years. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her friends and family.
