100 Who Care Del Webb Lake Oconee continues to give back to local communities. Their first quarter donation of 2021 went to Martha’s Closet in Hancock County. Martha’s Closet is a much-needed resource in their community. Once a month they open a free thrift store in Sparta for those in need,. On average, they help 120 people a month, this includes the elderly, single mothers, grandparents now raising grandchildren, and the homeless. During the holidays they provided Christmas dinners to more than 60 families and toys to more than 200 families. Martha’s Closet is entirely staffed by volunteers. They run on donations of clothing, household items of all kinds, small furniture and if available, smoke detectors and box fans when needed.
