First Call Pregnancy Center is a 501(c)3 organization located in Greensboro that serves as a safe haven and resource for the women of Greene, Morgan, Putnam, Hancock and Taliaferro Counties. Their free on-site classes include labor and delivery, newborn care, breastfeeding, prenatal and parenting. First Call also offers free resources, medical testing, emotional support and guidance during pregnancy.
One of their clients recently stated, “The staff at First Call are friendly and showed me love and support. I was so excited that they have an ultrasound room in their facility. During the ultrasounds, the technician spent so much time explaining everything to me.”
On Tuesday, May 18, Spivey Fashion and Jewelry is hosting a Fashion Show Fundraiser for First Call at the Corey House in Union Point. The show will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. and will feature beautiful fashions and handcrafted jewelry by Artist Sarah Spivey. There will also be a silent raffle with items donated by local merchants.
Melinda Spivey, who is coordinating the event stated, “The businesses in the community have been so generous. We have some wonderful items for the raffle including a four-person fishing trip with gGuide Mark Smith, a sunset pontoon boat cruise with wine and appetizers, a Traditional Cuban Dinner for 12 by Nellie Quoris Photography, a Mary Kay beach bag and many more great items.
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online at firstcall.me. One hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to First Call. Please bring your loose change on the day of the event so that First Call can continue to change lives in our community. Business sponsors and volunteers for the day of the event are still needed; please contact Melinda Spivey at 706-717-4995 if you can assist in this wonderful ministry.
