Burgamy elected to Piedmont Soil and Water Conservation District

Emory “Al” Burgamy of Milledgeville was recently elected to represent Baldwin County on the Piedmont Soil and Water Conservation District. Burgamy is employed at Clark Nexsen as a senior construction administrator. He also has a cow-calf operation and produces hay on his Uncle Grady’s 156-acre farm.
Burgamy’s interest in conservation began at an early age on the farm and with 4-H. He believes in caring for the environment to leave a legacy for the next generation.
He is a member of Northridge Christian Church and a board member serving the Baldwin-Jones-Putnam Cattle Association, Baldwin County Progressive Farmers Club, and the Georgia Cattlemen’s Association.
He will serve the Conservation District for a four-year term.
The Piedmont Soil and Water Conservation District is a unit of state government that manages and directs natural resource management programs in Baldwin, Greene, Hancock, Jones, Morgan, Putnam and Taliaferro Counties.
The District works with farmers, landowners, homeowners, and with other units of government to educate and actively promote programs and practices that support the conservation, and use and development of soil, water, and related resources.
