100 Who Care Del Webb Lake Oconee members just completed its second quarter donation. A total of $5,230.00 was donated to Men of Lake Oconee. The mission of Men of Lake Oconee is to aid need-based and qualified individuals and families from Greene and Putnam Counties for specific and verified necessities.
With the poverty level in Greene and Putnam counties (20%/7,400 citizens) much higher than the national average there is a definite need. Men of Lake Oconee works with other organizations to identify specific, one-time, quality-of-life-changing needs for those deserving of a hand up, not a handout.
Men of Lake Oconee projects include building wheelchair ramps, renovating bathrooms for handicapped accessibility, reconstruction of a burned-out kitchen, building beds for children with none, repair of vehicles so individuals can get to their jobs and many more.
