“Z” (Zachery) Brice has accepted the position as Board of Director for Fundraising Activities for the Lake Oconee Youth Alliance (LOYA), an organization designed specifically to meet the needs of Greene and Putnam children needing financial assistance to pursue a college education. 

“Mr. Brice brings an incredible wealth of experience that will provide LOYA the opportunity to advance its programs for the youth of Greene and Putnam counties,” said LOYA Board Chairman Ed Coker. “The programs LOYA provides for children K-12 and beyond (College Assistance and Scholarships) are essential to giving our children the opportunity they need to obtain varying skill sets for today’s business environment. My responsibility is to provide funding for these programs through various levels of fundraising activities and community support.” 

Although there are many organizations in the lake area that provide programs for children, very few manage to accomplish this with over 99% of every dollar contributed going directly to program and scholarship activities. 

Brice also added: “LOYA has no paid employees and donated office space and utilities. Making sure every dollar contributed finds its way to one of our programs is paramount to our efforts.” 

LOYA started its programs through the Lake Oconee Community Church several years ago, but soon realized that the needs of the children were too many and could not be met by the congregation of one church. LOYA recognized the enormous need for high academic achievers to be afforded the opportunity to attend college and decided to establish a separate 501(c)3 program where the entire Lake Oconee area could participate and support. 

To date, more than 96% of all LOYA scholarship students are on schedule to receive a college degree. 

Brice joins the board of directors after service as captain in the 498th Medevac Division of the United States Army, 35 years in business process management and Lean Six Sigma, 11 years in the banking industry and holds an MBA in economics. He is a former Global Deployment Leader for Credit Suisse. Brice has experience in the fields of banking, telecommunications, aerospace, IT, health care and manufacturing.
