- GMC Admissions recently visited eight classes of high school seniors at Putnam High.
Applying to college can be a tricky task. That’s why Georgia Military College is helping future students remove barriers when it comes to earning a college degree. The first step is to apply, and the GMC Admissions team is helping students in the community apply to GMC so that they can begin their college careers immediately after graduation.
Following admission labs held at Baldwin High School, John Milledge Academy, Hancock County High School and Jones County High School, Putnam County High School recently accepted the opportunity to participate. Aligning with GMC’s mission to bring accessible and affordable education to students in the community, GMC admissions labs offer assistance directly to school partners in the surrounding areas.
Staff members from the GMC Admissions team, financial aid department, and advising center, met with the seniors of Putnam High School to help them apply to GMC without any application fee and to help students better understand the college admissions and financial aid process.
“Offering a ‘during school’ opportunity for seniors to apply to college creates a guaranteed pathway to a college education beginning after high school graduation,” admissions Counselor Mary Spears said.
