Grace STEAM Academy will hold its first musical production, “Annie Jr.,” on May 19 at The Plaza Arts Center.

Grace STEAM Academy is a faith-based K-8 private school located in the heart of Eatonton.

Boasting a cast of 24, “Annie Jr.” has a variety of different levels and ages that are participating in the show. There are also several performers from local schools involved as well. GSA decided to allow young people from area schools to participate, which helps GSA scholars feel more comfortable on stage for their first time.

Tickets to the musical are on sale now at plazacenter.org. No tickets will be sold at the door. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students. Students must be able to show their Student I.D.

GSA Musical Theatre/Drama Teacher, Rashawd Ford said, having a cast that is willing to do whatever it takes to make their show an outstanding show is a blessing. This is my first year teaching and I can say, I do not regret my decision in becoming a theatre teacher. The love of the arts is spontaneous, I encourage each and every scholar to be a part of the arts. The arts can help students become tenacious, team-oriented, problem solvers who are confident and able to think creatively. Spreading my talent to others is what it is all about! We are excited about this production, and we hope to see you there. This is a show that you would not want to miss.”

Performances of “Annie Jr.” are May 19 and 20 starting at 7 p.m. at The Plaza Arts Center. For more information about tickets, call 706-923-1655.
