Now boasting over 50 members, the Lake Country Chorus was founded in 2000 by a group of people who loved to sing. This community of singers and musicians is joined together by their love of music and singing. Being able to share that love with the community brings tremendous joy to each and every member. The recent spring concert was a sell-out both nights and was enjoyed by all who attended.

Jennie Sharp and Sarah Daly Weir are the only original members still singing with the chorus. Jennie stated, “I have met so many wonderful people in the 20 years I have been singing, and I am so grateful for the direction and guidance I have received from our amazing directors and musicians. The chorus has been a wonderful addition to our great community, and I am so proud to be a member. We are always looking for new members and would love to have you audition and join us! I have a feeling that we will be around for another 20 years.”

Melanie Schultz took over as executive director when Jude Martincic moved to Florida. Melanie commented, “We are so grateful for the support that we have received from the community in sponsorship dollars and continued concert attendance. We are so blessed to have the talents of Donna Valvo as our director and Amy Reber as our accompanist, who have been with us for over 15 years.”

The Lake Country Chorus is currently rehearsing for their Christmas and spring concerts. The Christmas concert will be held on Thursday, Dec. 15, at the First United Methodist Church on Carey Station Road.
