P.E.O. Awards Scholarships

The local chapter of P.E.O. has awardedscholarshipstoeight very deserving young women.
P.E.O., a non-profit, international philanthropic organization, raises money to fund scholarships, grants, and loans in order to help women achieve their educational goals. Post-graduate loans are also available for women looking to further their education.
Chapter AP is comprised of women from Greene, Putnam, Morgan, and Baldwin counties who feel fortunate to have a number of schools from which to select these highly accomplished students.
Awards were given based on outstanding academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and community service.
This year, the GA scholarship winners were nominated by Chapter AP and selected by the Georgia State Chapter.
Zanobia Brown is the valedictorian of her class at GCHS, a REACH scholarship recipient, and GA Merit Scholar. She plans to study kinesiology at UGA.
Kennedy League is the salutatorian of her class at GCHS and winner of the UGA Merit Award. She plans to major in Zoology or Animal Science at UGA.
Jada Warren graduated from BCHS, is a member of National Honor Society, and plans to study math and physics at Kennesaw State.
In addition, the following women were awarded scholarships directly from by Chapter AP:
Courtney Davis is an honor graduate from PCHS, is attending Georgia Southern, and plans to become a physical therapist.
May Jewel Crosby is an honor graduate from PCHS. She will major in neurology at Mercer.
Alyssa Reeves is an honor graduate from PCHS. She will major in chemistry at UGA with plans to become a pediatrician.
Breydaysia Nasir is an honor graduate from PCHS. She will major in biology at Middle Georgia State University.
Tayla Merritt is an honor graduate from LOA. She plans to major in nursing at Georgia College ultimately becoming a nurse practitioner.
P.E.O. has awarded more than $398 million to over 120,000 women to help with their educational pursuits. With more than 6,000 chapters across the country and in Canada, members strongly believe that the education of women makes a difference in communities and in the world.
