Lake Oconee Dentistry hosted its sixth annual Stars, Stripes & Smiles event Friday, Sept. 30, providing a free day of dental care to 86 area veterans and active military, as well as law enforcement, firefighters, DNR and EMS personnel.
Drs. David and Patti Bradley, Dr. Shelly Pound, and Dr. Andrea Feldman, along with Lake Oconee Dentistry hygienists, dental assistants, and team members, provided event attendees with a choice of a free cleaning, filling or extraction. Dr. David Miller, an oral surgeon and owner of Lake Oconee Oral Surgery and Dental Implant Center also donated his time, alongside his team, to help as many people as possible. Lake Oconee Dentistry and Lake Oconee Oral Surgery have been partnering together for several years to provide dentistry for those in need.
This year, the Canine Angels, a local group of trained, registered, and insured therapy dogs were also on hand to spread some cheer and set patients at ease.
“Our team always looks forward to this event. There’s such a large need,” said Dr. David Bradley. “The military personnel and hometown heroes that we see often have a hard time fitting regular dental care into their schedules or have to drive all the way to the VA. So, we are happy to be able to provide another care option.
“It was an honor to serve those who have served our country. These men and women are truly some of our country’s bravest heroes.”
Drs. David and Patti Bradley opened Lake Oconee Dentistry in 1998. In addition to providing standard preventive maintenance exams and professional cleanings, Lake Oconee Dentistry offers short-term orthodontics, cosmetic enhancements, dental implant placement and restoration, teeth whitening, and oral appliances for snoring and sleep apnea. Lake Oconee Dentistry is proud to be recognized as the area’s “Best Dentist” by readers of The Lake Oconee Breeze for 11 years running and has won the award for “Best Customer Service” and “Best Overall Business” for several consecutive years.
