Fourteen years ago, Kenny Sellers and his wife, Nancy, were on their way from Tampa, Fla. for a trip to the mountains when they stopped to visit an old friend in the lake area. This visit not only changed their world but brought one of the best quality furniture stores to the Lake Oconee area.
Nestled on Scott Road not far from Wing Maxx, HomeKeeps started off as a 2,500 square foot space that was leased when the Sellers’ friend wanted to downsize his daycare and was looking for someone with Kenny’s background to fill the building. Kenny previously owned and operated an upscale golf sportwear store and used Bramble furniture to display his products. When customers started asking about the displays, Kenny took heed and partnered with a young-Bramble to start a small resale business alongside his clothing and equipment store.
When his friend of more than 10 years offered the daycare, the Sellers’ plans were to hire a manager and maintain their home in Tampa. However, soon after opening its doors, Kenny and Nancy settled into a condo and less than a year later a permanent move was made. Along with that move, they expanded the store another 7,200 square feet in 2009, leased a second building in 2010, and leased their third building in 2011.
Starting with mostly consignments as well as Bramble resales in 2008, the Sellers have adjusted their business over the years to feature only brand-new furnishings and décor. They offer quality brands like Bramble, Hooker, Sam Moore, StyleCraft and IMAX, and have a large line of Trapp candles across the total 15,000 sqaure foot of space in their three buildings. They offer pieces made of solid mahogany and leather, have sideboards, table sets, recliners, sofas, pairs of chairs, and so much more. If the Sellers don’t have the perfect piece in stock, they will custom order it as they have browsable catalogs full of the latest and trendiest pieces for the home.
Along with their daily special of any item over $50 being 30% to 40% off, the Sellers are offering a celebration sale for all of November where items in all three buildings will be 40% to 60% off. They also offer special pricing for military and first responders as they recognize and honor their daily sacrifice.
HomeKeeps’ main store is located at 100 Scott Oak Drive and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Follow them on Facebook or Instagram to see weekly posts of new arrivals. The team at HomeKeeps would like to thank the community near and far for their support through all these years. They look forward to another great year of connecting you with the best quality new home furnishings!
