Blue Christmas/Winter Solstice Prayer Service
Published 2:55 pm Wednesday, December 7, 2022
For many in the community, the Christmas season can be far from joyful. Some have experienced deep losses, while others live with chronic depression with symptoms often increasing during the shorter days of December.
With this in mind, the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Greensboro is offering a “Blue Christmas” prayer service on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at noon in the Redeemer sanctuary. This is being offered as a safe space for those who wish to bring their grief, depression, and loss and to offer them to our loving God who desires wholeness, healing, and peace for all. With prayer, readings, candlelight, and music we will hear of God’s love and faithfulness, honor and give expression to our sadness, and look with hope for the “lightening” of our days. All are welcome at 303 N. Main St.
