The Knights of Columbus Pope John Paul II hosted its Autumn Red Cross blood drive on October 13 at the Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church in Greensboro.

A total of 115 pints were donated, a very successful campaign.

Jerry Schonhoft was quoted as saying that the drive “was our best result since the pandemic and it was our best-run drive in many years.”

The volunteers did a great job from calling donors for appointments, check-in, and hospitality… making for a very pleasant experience for everyone.

Since 1938, Knights of Columbus have mobilized campaigns on a local, state, and national level, supporting and saving countless lives.  Here locally Council 13808 has a long history with Red Cross, now having held more than 30 drives and collecting more than 3600 pints of blood.

Special thanks to all who gave of their time to plan and work at these drives as well as the many blood donors who rolled up their sleeves to help those whose health and lives depends on the generosity of strangers.
