GREENSBORO, Ga. — Reynolds Lake Oconee Properties proudly presented a check to Victory Train® President and Founder, Theresa Kemp for $6,485. Supporting and giving back to the community has been a long time priority for Reynolds Lake Oconee Properties, and Victory Train aligns with that priority as an early childhood education program that serves Greene County families. Victory Train’s mission is to empower parents with skills and resources to provide essential learning experiences for their children from birth to kindergarten.
“At Victory Train, we walk alongside parents beginning at the birth of their child, helping them realize their role as their child’s primary teacher, and providing them with age-appropriate educational packets delivered to their home every week. Parents are guided every step of the way, helping them raise children who arrive at the first day of school confident and ready to succeed at the first key milestone on the pathway to graduation,” Kemp says.
Micki Tanner and Lori Brown, Philanthropy Committee Members and Realtors with Reynolds Lake Oconee Properties, have been supporting Victory Train personally and were excited when the opportunity arose for their colleagues to support this organization too with their time and donations.
“Our donation of $6,485 was a result of 100% team participation and our money will support more than six children for one year with books and educational materials each week,” Micki said.
Over 270 children were served in Greene County in 2022 through Victory Train, with more that 7,500 educational packets, including more than 5,000 books and thousands of puzzles, educational toys, crayons and other supplies parents need to prepare their children for school-readiness.
“We are grateful to the Reynolds Lake Oconee Properties team for their overwhelming generosity and support of the Victory Train® We are proud to work with them as partners, to help the children in our community reach critical milestones on their pathway to graduation. The Victory Train® is a community-wide effort and Reynolds Lake Oconee Properties is helping to lead the charge as we come together to guide our children towards a successful life,” said Kemp.
If you are looking for local volunteer opportunities then get on board and join Victory Train’s “PAC” days when the community gathers to help prepare and assemble educational packets for families in need. You can volunteer one or two days a month or weekly, or whenever you’re available, and you can even volunteer from home. The Victory Train team delivers packets to families every week, helping parents prepare their children for school-readiness, so there are many opportunities to volunteer and support this local organization.
