GREENSBORO, Ga. — Harbor Club Properties has announced a 23% increase in real estate sales compared to 2021, according to data collected from the Lake Country Board of Realtors.

Harbor Club, an embracing 1,000-acre lake and golf community on the shores of Lake Oconee, reports that $69.3 million in home, homesite, cottage and townhome properties were sold last year compared to $53.3 million in 2021, a record-setting sales year in its own right. The 2022 sales activity represents the eighth consecutive year of a double-digit percentage increase in sales at the community.

The $69.3 million in sales in 2022 was comprised of 168 transactions, 57% of which were driven by Harbor Club Properties, a partnership between Harbor Club and the Atlanta-based sales and marketing specialists @properties Development Group/Christies International, led by Director of Sales Kathy Phillips. The 168 sales included new home builds, in addition to a broad range of resale properties throughout the community.

The sales increase comes on the heels of two unsettled and anxious years across the world caused by the Covid 19 pandemic, which seems to have fueled a continuing homebuyer’s interest in finding less crowded neighborhoods, homes with flex, child-learning and home office space, and expanded outdoor living space – even post-pandemic.

According to Phillips, “2022 was a remarkable year for real estate around the country, but Harbor Club at Lake Oconee especially had a solid influx of buyers from all over the United States. The reasons for picking Harbor Club over other lake area communities was its sense of relaxed luxury and wide range of home types and prices ranging from the 300’s to well over $2M. New homes were a very popular option for many, but resales also experienced great success in the community. Whether escaping bad weather, high taxes, urban crime and congestion, or just wanting to find a staycation home, buyers have proven that Harbor Club is the place to be.”

Harbor Club is one of only a handful of places in the country to have been handpicked as a Southern Living Inspired Community by the magazine’s editors, whose criteria for the recognition includes “neighborhoods marked by charm, taste and Southern spirit that embody a distinctive pride of place.”
