The Greene & Putnam Counties National Day of Prayer May 4
Published 9:52 am Thursday, April 27, 2023
The National Day of Prayer is coming to Greene and Putnam counties with a joint praying event on Thursday, May 4, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lakepoint Community Church, located at 106 Village Lane, Eatonton.
This is the 71st anniversary for the event and the third time for the two counties to join in prayer. For those wishing to stay in their cars they can hear the event on the outdoor speakers.
The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. The National Day of Prayer has great significance for the nation as it enables Americans to recall and to teach the way in which the founding fathers sought the wisdom of God when faced with critical decisions. It stands as a call to humbly come before God, seeking His guidance for our leaders and His grace upon us as a people. The National Day of Prayer is as important to our nation today as it was in the beginning.
This is a non-partisan, non-political & non-denominational Christian movement with no purpose other than to pray for the salvation of our country. All are welcome to come and join the seven speakers from each county to pray to God to solve our problems and continue to bless our wonderful country.
Lakepoint Church is approximately a 12-minute drive from Publix in Greene or city center Eatonton. For more information call Fran D’Antonio at 404-391-4120 or fran547@aol.com.
