- The Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton will present the Sounds of Georgia tour on May 13.
EATONTON, Ga. — Georgia not only has great football, a rich history and good food, but it also has some deep roots in music.
As rich as the red clay, the music in Georgia spans from blues to rock to country to soul — covering every genre as the vocals soothe every listener.
From Otis Redding, Little Richard, James Brown, Ray Charles, to Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt, Zac Brown Band, R.E.M, the B-52s, Black Crowes, Outkast, Trisha Yearwood, the Indigo Girls, and of course, The Allman Brothers Band.
The Plaza Arts Center is bringing all of these artists to the area in a single night.
Sounds of Georgia is a product of The Georgia Players Guild — an agency of touring tribute shows across the country. Since 2014, they have staged hundreds of performances of over 30 different shows, paying tribute to over half a century of iconic music. No matter the band or genre, they go beyond just getting the songs right, seeking to make the experience true to the original.
Sounds of Georgia is live at The Plaza May 13 at 7:30 p.m. This is an outdoor concert so patrons can bring drinks, lawn chairs, blankets and whatever they wish to enjoy the night.
The show kicks off at 7:30, but arrive early to save your spot! There’s a dance floor at the front, so get ready to kick off your shoes to shimmy and shake to music you know and love.
VIP tickets are also available, providing up close and personal with a front row seat at a table with a guaranteed seat and a place to put your cooler.
