Lake Oconee Academy added boys and girls GHSA Class A Division II state team championships – plus two individual low medalists – to its 2023 spring success. The Titan boys, led by future North Georgia golfer and State Player of the Year Colby Bennett – won state with a plus-27 score (603) at Belle Meade Golf Club in Thomson. Bennett scored 2-under-par over two rounds May 22-23 and was the only in his division to play under par. Second place individually went to his Titan teammate Drew Williams, who finished at even-par. Lake Oconee Academy also had the low medalist and State Player of the Year for the girls tournament, won by the Lady Titans at plus-17 (305). Kallyn Black was the only player in her division to come in under-par as she carded 4-under-par at the Belle Meade course. Her teammate Georgia Bosart placed third.
