During the week of July 3-7, the students at Little Scholars Academy had a fun celebrating Patriotic Week. They began the week by reading the books ‘You’re My Little Firecracker,’ by Nicola Edwards and ‘Hello,’ America by Martha Zschock. The students also had so much fun making their very own firecracker by wrapping blue and white duct tape around 12-inch cut red and blue pool noodles. They decorated them with red sharpies and also worked on their fine motor skills by twisting metallic colored pipe cleaners to the top of the pool noodle and adding red cellophane paper as the firecracker flame. They also added stars and stripes decor pretending it shot out of their amazing firecracker. They ended the week with a party that included red and blue popsicles and delicious brownie bites. Pictured Addison Hyde and Isabella Moore are having fun making their very own firework.
