Lake Oconee Lodge invites all kids ages 4 to 15 in Greene, Hancock, Morgan and Putnam Counties to come out to the Greene County Recreation Center at 2741 Old Union Point Road in Greensboro on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 9 to 11 a.m. Registration starts at 8 a.m. to participate in the Elks annual Soccer Shoot program.  There are five different age groups (age you were on Jan. 1, 2023 and please bring proof of age).  Boys and girls shoot separately. Seven-year-olds and under try to kick a soccer ball through five different goals decreasing in size. Eight- to 9-year-olds, 10- to 11-year-olds, 12- to 13-year-olds and 14- to 15-year-olds kick through a Grid Goal and points are made as the ball goes through different sections of the goal. Medallions will be presented to the first place boy and girl in each age group.  First place winners will advance to the Elks Regional Competition at a later date to be determined.  

There will be a free hot dog lunch provided following the soccer shoot contest.  Apparel and indoor or outdoor footwear appropriate for soccer are required. For more information call Elks Soccer Shoot Chairman Bob Pluta at 770-331-8103 for more information.
