Harbor Club on Lake Oconee has announced a partnership with Gilly Francis Events to promote and coordinate weddings at the community’s myriad and unique venues. The wedding coordination services are available to both Harbor Club members and those outside the community.

Gilly Francis Events is guided by its namesake, Gilly Francis, a native of Durham in Northern England. Francis is an award-winning planner, earning the vaunted WeddingWire’s Couples Choice Award for the past four years running.

Francis began her current career managing several premier resorts in the Caribbean, where she oversaw lavish destination weddings in the islands. Francis subsequently moved to Sarasota, Florida, in 1998 to manage the Manasota Beach Club. In 2011 she began working with the Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast and Historic Spanish Point. Francis moved to Athens, Georgia in 2017, where her burgeoning event management company is now headquartered.

According to Francis, “We strive to utilize our extensive knowledge, logistic and execution skills, while incorporating the client’s personal vision to plan and execute meaningful and memorable events.”

Over the last decade Harbor Club has engaged in an extensive expansion of its social and recreational amenity base, most notably in 2016 by unveiling a sparkling new fitness, recreation and special event campus called The Grove, which is located near the community’s entrance gate.

The centerpiece of The Grove is The Stables, one of the lake area’s most popular wedding and special event venues. Harbor Club has recently enhanced the facility with the addition of a beautiful outdoor wedding chapel built from cedar trees brought from the Virginia Mountains. The equestrian-themed venue comes complete with horse drawn carriages for a distinctive romantic touch on wedding day.

The community also offers curated event venues like the Lighthouse Point Pavilion, an award-winning clubhouse flanked by manicured croquet lawns, the rustic lakefront Boathouse Marina or a quaint backyard setting overlooking the golf course.
