Lisa Tubbs, owner and CEO of IV Wellness Solutions in Eatonton, was awarded at the Women of Influence Holiday Tea in Atlanta on Dec. 14th.

“I am forever grateful for this extraordinary gift of love and recognition by Usher in honor of his beloved nonprofit Usher’s New Look,” Lisa shared upon receiving the award.

Usher’s New Look (UNL) is a non-profit organization that transforms the lives of under-resourced youth through a comprehensive program that develops passion-driven, global leaders. The organization was founded in 1999 by musician Usher Raymond IV and his mother Jonetta Patton, who were inspired after witnessing the dire narratives of Atlanta teens in a courtroom. UNL was created to tackle systemic barriers that prevent teens from graduating from high school and college.

Tubbs was presented with UNL’s very first Women of Influence Presidents Award. This award acknowledges a phenomenal woman who has exhibited long-standing commitment to the mission of Ushers New Look. As a member of UNL for 20 years, Tubbs has worked tirelessly to support those in need at every turn in her life.

She doesn’t credit herself solely for the award.

“I’m amazed and grateful to the phenomenal colleagues and friends Jonnetta Patton, Cammie Wolf Rice, Careshia Scott Moore, Holly H. Campbell and so many more that I have spent the better part of 20 years serving with,” she said. “They have given me some of the most important, and impactful core memories of my life.”

Tubbs is involved with numerous boards and non-profits, including St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation Board of Directors and Usher’s New Look Advisory Board. She published Southern Journal Magazine for a decade and worked with various clients to develop brand strategies. Now she owns and operates IV Wellness Solutions, where her mission is to help clients look and feel their best with IV hydration and nutrition. She is also the founder of the annual Women’s Wellness Conference, which was recently held at Lake Oconee Community Church in Greensboro. Plans for the 2024 Conference are underway.

“To the youth we serve through UNL and beyond,” she said, “it is YOU who give me the greatest joy and overwhelming pride. Keep reaching for the stars — they are yours to be had.”
