If you have gone to a show at The Plaza, you’ve heard us say how we are able to do what we do because of our donors, members and patrons.

So, what’s the big deal about being a member?

Well, memberships are The Plaza’s bread and butter. We thrive from memberships. Being a member means that annually, you donate a specific amount — these amounts start at $150 per year. With this annual donation, you become a Plaza member. Plaza members get benefits. At the $150 membership, you get an invite to member-only events, early access to tickets and 2 free tickets to our Summer musical.

At the $300 level, you get all that you get with the $150 level plus two free tickets to PAPA stage productions. At the $300 level, you get nearly $150 back in tickets. When you join at the $2,500 level, you get two free tickets to all Plaza events. This adds up to about $1,000 in free tickets.

On top of all these tangible benefits, here are some other benefits to being a Plaza member:

1. Your dollars go to help our area youth. Kids are really what The Plaza is all about. Yes, money is spent on bringing in performers, but a majority of funds that we raise at The Plaza go directly back into our youth. This keeps the after school programs free, our community events free and our educational plays free. If you take a look at the 40 or so kids that come to our after school art program each week, you understand why it’s important. These kids absolutely adore learning about art and creating. This is at the heart of The Plaza’s mission.

2. You get a tax write-off. Your donations to The Plaza are tax deductible. We know how important this can be! 3. You get to make new friends. We see our members forming new friendships all the time. Whether you become a member and then start volunteering, or you sit near the same people each time— whatever it may be, our members form new friendships each time they come to The Plaza.

4. Your dollars make a difference. It is so true when we say that we couldn’t exist without our donors. The money that is donated through our memberships help to sustain The Plaza each year. We hope that you will consider becoming a member at The Plaza this year. We love what we do and your membership dollars go to a great cause — bringing the arts to the community, especially our area youth.
