GREENSBORO, Ga. — Luxury Lake Oconee Real Estate Groupled by founders Riezl and Ted Baker, has reaffirmed its support of the arts with a generous donation to the Oconee Performing Arts Society (OPAS) as season sponsors. This significant contribution underscores the group’s commitment to enriching the cultural landscape of the community.
Doug LaBrecque, the artistic/executive director of OPAS, expressed his gratitude.

”This donation is instrumental in allowing us to continue delivering high-quality entertainment to the area and bolstering our children’s arts education programs. The support from Riezl and Ted Baker ensures the ongoing vibrancy and accessibility of the arts in our community,” LaBrecque said.
Since its establishment in 2010, OPAS has been at the forefront of bringing premier entertainment and educational opportunities to the region.

Riezl Baker played a role in the early days of OPAS, leading the marketing efforts that helped introduce significant cultural events to the lake area, including the acclaimed production of “The King and I” directed by renowned Baayork Lee.
Reflecting on the impact of OPAS, Riezl Baker, who currently serves on the board of directors, said, “Being a part of OPAS from the beginning has been a deeply rewarding journey. Seeing my children participate in ‘The King and I’ was a poignant reminder of the power of the arts to inspire and educate our youth.”
OPAS’s track record includes hosting legendary artists like the late Marvin Hamlisch and elevating the cultural offerings available to the community.

Ted Baker emphasized the broader significance of OPAS’s work.

”The arts play a crucial role in connecting our communities and fostering an environment where creativity and cultural engagement thrive. Supporting OPAS is not just an investment in the arts but in the heart and soul of our community,” he said.

Under the leadership of Doug LaBrecque and with the support of local board members, OPAS continues to elevate the quality of arts and entertainment in the area. Margie Forbes, OPAS

Board chair remarked, “The generosity of Ted and Riezl Baker is a testament to their understanding of the arts’ vital role in our community and economy. Their sponsorship enables us to offer a diverse and enriching program lineup and to expand our initiatives aimed at nurturing young talents.”
