Lake Oconee BBQ Fest May 4

The Lake Oconee BBQ Fest will be held May 4 at the Farm on Oconee in Greensboro from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In its second year, proceeds go to support the Pete Nance Boys and Girls Club of Greensboro.In its second year, people and businesses last year thoroughlyenjoyed attending this free event. The fun filled day includes live music, a classic car show, a local BBQ contest, an array of food trucks including Cousins Maine Lobster, Oconee Brewery, and more. The music stage will feature Bob and Cat at 10:30 a.m.; the Tim Cadiere Band at noon; and Gridrocked at 2:30 pm.
All to support the Pete Nance Boys and Girls Club of Greensboro.
With an array of programs, The Pete Nance Boys and Girls Club averages a daily attendance of more than 155 per day.The club provides high quality programs:unique opportunities and valuable lifeexperiences to enhance the opportunity to reach their potential as productive, successful individuals.The club includes opportunities for academic support, career exploration, stem and steam education, computer/reading/academic labs, fitness and sport camps, summer programs and so much more.
A new $2.3 millionfacility was completed with community support in 2021.In order to offer the programs for over 155 children/youths, community support is a necessity.
