EATONTON, Ga. — Ray Saltamacchio, owner and Master Instructor of Saltamacchio’s Tang Soo Do Karate School, is proud to announce the 13th Annual Invitational Tang Soo Do Championship held at Lake Oconee Academy was a great success.
On April 27, over 100 dedicated boys and girls, men and women martial artist from eight martial arts schools came together at Lake Oconee Academy in Greensboro to participate in the annual event. Most of the schools traveled here from different parts of Georgia but one school came from much farther away. Two Dragons Martial Arts traveled all the way from Tupelo, Mississippi.
It takes a lot to host a championship of this size so having the support of nine martial art masters, the Grand Master/President SS Kim of the Global Tang Soo Do Association, along with the Grand Master/President TH Kim of the Global Karate Association, 25 black belts and numerous volunteers made for a successful event.
Children as young as 4, as mature as 65, and all ages in between displayed their martial art talent in front of an audience of over 300. Students competed in point sparring, board breaking, forms and weapon forms. Medals were presented for firth through third place in each age/event category. The day concluded with black belts competing against each other in a display of fierce competition, which was a special treat for all the students aspiring to be a black belt themselves one day.
Master Saltamacchio wants to personally thank all the masters, black belts, karate schools, students and volunteers for all their dedication and hard work in making this year’s championship better than ever. Preparations have already begun for next year’s event with a proposed tournament date of Saturday, April 26, 2025.
As a member of organizations such as Global Tang Soo Do Association (GTSDA), Global Karate Association (GKA), Martial Arts Industry Association (MAIA), and Martial Arts Against Bullying (MAAB) Saltamacchio’s Tang Soo Do Karate strives for the highest standards of age-appropriate curriculum, leadership training, child safety and security, business integrity and professional ethics.
