Knights of Columbus Assembly 3799 sponsors Martha’s Closet Hancock County Food Drive

The Knights of Columbus Assembly 3799 (KofC) and the St. Vincent de Paul Society from Christ Our King and Savior Church St. co-sponsored a food drive to support the needs of Martha’s Closet in Hancock County. The collection took place on the church grounds located at 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway in Greensboro June 14.
The generous donations filled two trailers and included diapers for children and adults; food items: peanut butter, canned tuna, chicken, Vienna sausages, any single size microwave meal, canned ravioli, Raman noodles, canned spaghetti sauce, pasta, canned stew and protein bars.Both organizations thank everyone for their generosity in helping those less fortunate who are served by Martha’s Closet food pantry.
The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic fraternal organization with more than 2.0 million members. Locally, Pope John Paul II Council 13808 located at Christ Our King and Savior Church, has over 180 members. During 2023, Council 13808 donated over $82,000 to various charitable organizations in Greene, Putnam and Hancock counties with over 22,000 service hours from their volunteers.
