OCAF to host 22nd annual Perspectives: Georgia Pottery Invitational Aug. 24-Sept. 8

Perspective: Georgia Potter Invitational will showcase the work of 50 gifted potters from across the state and more than 5,000 pieces of their work in a huge exhibition and sale taking place from Aug. 24-Sept. 8.

The event will be held in the Oconee Cultural Arts 1902 building, 34 School St., Watkinsville, as well as in renovated Rocket Hall nearby. The hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and admission is free. Pottery making demonstrations will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24 and Saturday, Aug. 1 in Rocket Hall at 1 p.m.

Now in its 22nd year, Perspectives attracts art collectors, patrons and hundreds of art lovers from across the country. It is the largest exhibit of funcConal po@ery in the Southeast.

“We are so very excited to be hosting one of the largest pottery shows in the state,” said Paul Clark, OCAF interim director. “It has been a major part of The Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation’s mission to support art and artists in not only our community but also northeast Georgia. It truly is an honor to have people come from all over the country to attend this event and each year our staff and volunteers work very hard to meet or exceed the standard of the previous years. We hope to see everyone attend multiple times.”
