Avis Dickey

Avis Dickey is the first generation of her family in real estate in the beautiful Lake Oconee Area (one hour from Atlanta and Augusta). She has been in the business at Lake Oconee for over 15 years, specializing in residential home sales with a focus as a buyers agent.

Through her time as an executive in the military and the health care industry as well as her many years as a Realtor, she has gained the wisdom, expertise, negotiating skills, communications and sheer determination to excel in all that she does for her clients.

As a buyers’ agent, she said she believes “Real estate is all about understanding my clients’ needs and making sure they are thoroughly pleased with the end result. I truly enjoy working with people. It’s all about caring, being an advocate and top-notch communications every step of the way.”

She is proud to have served for 28 years in the Naval Reserve and has 19 years experience with the CDC.Originally from Florida, she received her undergrad degree from FAMU in Tallahassee, she has an master’s degree from Clark University in Atlanta and a DBA degree from Argosy University. She also has formal training as a Luxury Home Real Estate Specialist and a Georgia New Home Selling Expert.She has been very active in the Lake Oconee community as a long-term member of Rotary and a member of several other boards in the past including St Mary’s Hospital.  

When she isn’t out working with her clients, she is adventurous and so enjoys traveling, attending plays and musicals, sporting events and any time with her daughter. She and her daughter live full-time in Greensboro, and are often involved in Lake Oconee Academy events as well as groups like the Second Harvest Food Bank and Shoes for Kids.
