Thillen Education foundation receives donation

Dell Webb’s 100+ Who Care recently donated a check for $6,780to The Thillen Education Foundation.
The Foundation, in partnership with the Greene College & Career Academy, offers a career coaching and financial assistance program to every student at Greene County High School who opts into the program.Students earn financial assistance called “Dave Dollars” that can be applied to continuing education, military service or to start a career.
!00+ Who Care members were given a tour of the Greene College and Career Academy to see firsthand how their donation will directly benefit the students.The facilities and the programs available to the students left a very positive impression on the Del Webb residents.
A freshman assembly was held on Sept. 12 at the high school where over 70 students met their career coaches for the first time.During the assembly 36 students received $25 Dave Dollars each for maintaining perfect attendance. One student, Hunter Dayter, received $100 Dave Dollars as the 100+ Who Care Del Webb Lake Oconee Outstanding Student for the month of August.
The 100+ Who Care is a group of Del Webb residents who meet quarterly to support a deserving local nonprofit organization.
