EATONTON, Ga. — The Greene Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening of Slates Jewelers’ Lake Oconee location Nov. 1 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

This new store is situated at 646 Old Phoenix Road, Suite B, Eatonton, next to IV Wellness Solutions and Deer Run Florist.

Owners Philip and Kristine Slates have operated their store in Milledgeville for nearly 10 years.

Philip brings more than 30 years of extensive experience in repairing jewelry to the business, ensuring the highest quality service for their customers.

Slates Jewelers offers a wide range of services, making it a one-stop-shop for all jewelry needs. Services include full-service jewelry repair, ring sizing, chain repair, remounts and stone settings, pearl restringing, eyeglass repair, watch batteries and bands, insurance appraisals, permanent jewelry, laser engraving, and ear piercing. Additionally, Slates provides same-day service for many repairs.

Philip Slates is renowned for his custom jewelry designs, working closely with clients to create unique pieces that reflect their personal styles, ensuring that every piece of jewelry is not only beautiful but also meaningful to its owner.

Slates Jewelers is a small family-run business, with each member playing a crucial role. Elijah, the youngest son of Philip and Kristine, is apprenticing under Philip to become a jeweler. Kristine and Jessica manage the stores’ daily tasks and have a passion for helping clients redesign sentimental or heirloom jewelry into modern pieces.

“It’s so much fun to remake a piece of jewelry and then see the final outcome. We’ve had customers cry because they were so happy with their redesigned jewelry that was sentimental to them or handed down as an heirloom,” said Kristine.
