- Meet Kamilla, one of the ATLAS Early Learners who will be able to immediately experience the benefit of the new facility through her time in ATLAS Academy. She is not shy about sharing why she loves ATLAS!
ATLAS Ministry invites the community, donors, and ATLAS families to join us for a special groundbreaking celebration on Dec. 9 at 4:30 p.m.located adjacent to the new elementary school at 1440 Meadow Crest Road, Greensboro, the site of our new building.
Earlier this year, you may have read about ATLAS’ plans to expand with a new facility in the coming months. During the LEAD From WITHIN Campaign this past spring, ATLAS Ministry unveiled exciting new plans, and this community was able to complete the fundraising efforts needed to make the dream a reality. Through the summer and early fall, preparations were being made and now the time has come. If you take a drive down Meadowcrest Road you will not only see the final stages of the new Greene County primary school taking shape, but a large plot of cleared land directly adjacent to the school – the future home of the new ATLAS learning facility
The learning center will be multi-dimensional in its use and enhance student impact all the way up the ATLAS continuum from birth through adulthood. There are 1,290 children under eight years old in Greene County. The ATLAS Early Learners program currently serves 10% of them. The new facility will contain the instructional space needed to add children from the current wait list and expand the capacity for impact of the Early Learners program from 10 to 20%.
The new facility will also allow the further development of ATLAS Camp programs, multiplying the experiential leadership and professional training for students throughout the ATLAS continuum.
