CGTC EAGLE delegate named regional finalist

The Technical College System of Georgia’s (TCSG) Adult Education Office recently announced that Tequita Brown of CGTC as a finalist for its 2025 Dinah Culbreth Wayne Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education (EAGLE) award.
Brown, nominated by her instructor, Lisa Dennis, participated in the college’s comprehensive judging process in the fall semester to be named its representative for competition in January. As one of the eight EAGLE regional finalists across Georgia she will represent CGTC at the 2025 EAGLE Leadership Institute in Atlanta in March 2025.
“Tequita’s recognition as an EAGLE finalist for Adult Education in Georgia highlights not only her hard work and dedication but also her commitment to personal growth and the pursuit of knowledge,” said Dr. Brittany Lucas, vice president of Adult Education at CGTC. “Her journey is an inspiration to others, showing that it’s never too late to soar to new heights.”
The Leadership Institute honors the state’s adult education students who have demonstrated exceptional
achievement in their academic and personal journeys. Brown’s selection highlights her hard work and
determination, and her achievement is a testament to the transformative impact of CGTC’s adult education and workforce development programs.
“I now see a new version of myself, viewed through a more positive lens. I have let go of past struggles, including substance abuse and negative habits.” said Brown. “I am honored to represent Central Georgia Technical College’s Adult Education Division. This experience has allowed me to share my personal journey, the challenges I have faced, and how these experiences have shaped my character, aspirations, and the valuable lessons I’ve learned through Adult Education. My hope is that my story will inspire, encourage and motivate those who are determined to achieve their goals.”
