Former Major League Baseball player and Greene County resident and Mike Fischlin is partnering with Greene County Recreation to host the highly anticipated 2nd Annual “Fisch Camp,” a one-day junior baseball clinic. After the success of last year’s inaugural event, Mike is thrilled to bring this exciting opportunity back for another fun and educational day of baseball.
The first Fisch Camp, held last August, saw 90 boys of all skill levels enjoying a day of learning the game, participating in drills, and collecting autographs from Major League Baseball players. This year’s camp promises to be even bigger and better, with a lineup of MLB players joining in to provide unique instruction and mentorship to the campers.
Among the MLB legends Mike has invited are four Atlanta Braves All-Stars from last season: Andruw Jones, Kevin Millwood, Jeff Blauser, and Bruce Benedict. Additionally, this year’s camp will feature former MLB No. 1 draft pick JD Drew, along with Stephen Drew, Jeff Treadway, and Glenn Hubbard. Their participation will offer young athletes the opportunity to learn from some of the best players in the game.
Event Details:
- Date: May 17th
- Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Location: Greene County Recreation Center
- Cost: $20 per player
- Ages: 7-14 (Open to boys from Greene, Putnam, Morgan, and surrounding counties)
The camp will be filled with skill-building drills, age-appropriate practice games, and expert instruction from MLB professionals. Every participant will receive lunch, drinks, a camp jersey, and a hat.
“We are excited to offer this opportunity for young athletes in our community,” said Fischlin. “With the support of the MLB players and our local sponsors, we aim to provide an unforgettable experience that focuses on skill development, teamwork, and most importantly, the love of the game.”
Fisch Camp is dedicated to creating a fun, positive, and supportive environment for young players to develop their baseball skills and sportsmanship. With the guidance of experienced coaches and MLB veterans, campers will leave the day with valuable lessons they can carry into their future athletic endeavors and autograph from former MLY
Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged to secure a spot.
