GREENSBORO, Ga. — In response to growing concerns about food insecurity, the Greene County Food Pantry (GCFP) is launching its community-wide “Feed the Need” Drive on Saturday, May 10, to help restock pantry shelves and support families struggling to put food on the table.
With over 30% of households in Greene County living at or below the poverty line, and with looming cuts to food assistance programs alongside escalating grocery prices, the need for community support has never been greater.
“We are already seeing the effects of rising costs and reduced aid,” said a representative from GCFP. “Our pantry serves more than 1,000 individuals every month, providing 40 to 50 pounds of nutritious food per household. We can’t do this alone — we need our community to join us.”
