Lake Oconee Elks Lodge 2849 hosted a St Patrick’s Day themed bingo event March 24 at the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville. ‘Bingo’ Bob Pluta entertained the veterans dressed out as a leprechaun, and prizes were awarded in appropriately themed decorations fashioned by Lake Oconee Elk Beth Colie. The team of Joyce Kender, Bob Harris, Peter Novak, Mary Zachary, Beth Colie and Bob Colie tended to the vets providing snacks, prizes, ice cream (favorite), conversation, pushing wheelchairs and personal interaction. There was a full house in the Birdsong Recreation building. Thirty-two vets and six attending staff members took part in the event.
