Josh Hudson, a 2015 graduate of Gatewood Schools and a 2019 graduate of The University of Georgia, has landed the lead role of Danny in the electrifying musical “Grease.”

The show runs May 23 through June 22 at the Strand Theater in Marietta.

Hudson began his love of singing at the young age of 3 when he would sing songs to restaurant patrons as his mom and dad finished dinner. (They would often reward young Hudson with 25 cents after he entertained them.) He participated in choirs throughout his childhood including the barbershop quartet at Gatewood but his love of singing/acting intensified when he was given a lead role in the PAPA production of “Second Samuel” at 16. After the acting bug hit him, he performed in several Lake Country productions and had many lead roles in UGA plays throughout his college career.

Hudson has performed in productions all over the country including “Bonnnie & Clyde,” “The Sound of Music,” “Kinky Boots,” “Hairspray,” “Psycho Beach Party,” “Xanadu,” “Pippin,” “Fun Home” and “My Fair Lady.”

He has also performed in Immersive Theater with The Little Mermaid Experience, Jurassic World the Exhibition, The Stranger Things Experience, and at Stone Mountain Park.
