With the Holiday buying season in full swing many people are going to fight the mall and shopping center traffic and then wait in long checkout lines. Consider purchasing plants for someone on your gift list. A plant is a gift that keeps giving pleasure and enjoyment throughout the year. Most people enjoy plants because of the comfortable feeling they create inside and outside the home. House plants are a great way to create that feeling. There are houseplants available for both low light and sunny areas. There are low, medium, and tall growing house plants to fit just about any situation and area of the home. Houseplants are available with flowers, colored or green leaves, in hanging baskets or in pre-planted color bowls.

Another good gift choice is to plant a tree. This is the time of year for tree planting and there are many varieties of trees to choose from. Trees available now are; flowering trees, Japanese Maples, shade trees, accent trees, weeping trees and trees with colorful and interesting bark. Trees also come in low growing to tall varieties. There are trees available to fit almost any area of a landscape. A planted tree will remind the recipient of your thoughtfulness each time they see it.

Shrubs would be another great gift with a large variety to select from. Shrub varieties come with flowers, different leaf colors, textures and growth habits. A great gift idea would be to plant an area of someone’s landscape in need of replanting or redesigning. It is a gift that will be remembered for a long time. Another great gift would be a gift certificate which would allow a person to choose a plant or plants that they would particularly enjoy.

Merry Christmas.
