For the first time, the Madison Artists Guilds Youth Curators Heidi Behrendsen and Brandon Luepkes will present a special Morgan County Young Artists Exhibit at the Guild Cottage at Town Park, 248 West Jefferson Street in Madison.

The call for entries and judging for acceptance into the show will be held on Monday, Nov. 22 and Tuesday, Nov. 23 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Art Room at Morgan County High School. All artists from high school freshmen to 26 years of age are eligible. Artists may submit any number of pieces for consideration.  Each piece selected to be in the show will be subject to a $20 hanging fee payable by the artist.

The show will open Dec. 27 with an all day open house reception from 11 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. This show was conceived of and curated entirely by Heidi and Brandon in an effort to highlight the young artists in and around Madison. The Guild invited the two young artists to take over the Guild Cottage for this show. So the entire gallery will be given over to these aspiring talents for the Christmas holidays.

Dick Blick Art Supplies has provided gift certificates in varying amounts for the top three artists. Judges for these awards will be selected from the Board of the Madison Artists Guild.  These judges are practicing, professional artists with many years of experience in the field and a desire to encourage upcoming artists to follow their dreams of making art either for a living or just for the joy of being creative.
