Even when school’s out for summer, learning doesn’t stop at Redeemer Episcopal Academy.

The school recently announced its weekly line-up for an exciting and educational Summer Camp that will be available to all students throughout June and July.

Each week, a new and unique theme will be supported by structured lessons that incorporate critical thinking, problem solving, hands-on activities and plenty of summer fun.

“We are building on very successful camps of the past two summers and expect this one to be even better,” said Dr. Trish Klein, headmaster at Redeemer Episcopal Academy. “With experienced educators leading the camp, we expect children to learn while having fun in a safe, structured environment.”

In addition to the school’s veteran staff serving as regular leaders, the camp will bring in resource people from the community who will provide special emphasis for selected themes throughout the summer.

Off-campus learning activities and different “water play” days will also be incorporated into the summer schedule.

Beginning June 7 through June 11, “All About Me” will allow children to explore their interests and personal characteristics with various crafts and games.

The following week, community leaders will join campers for “When I Grow Up,” an opportunity for children to fast-forward into fun and exciting future careers.

“Healthy Me” and “Foods Around the World” will focus on culinary creativity, helping children identify and make healthy food choices in their own world and then getting a taste of food from different worlds the following week.

Just in time for the Fourth of July, “USA Week/National Treasures” will take children on a journey across the USA to celebrate our nation and its many treasures.

“Heritage Week/Time Machine” will feature the expertise of various community resource people who will help children compare past and present traditions in our environment.

To wrap up the summer, children will have a wild week of “Animals Around the World,” focusing on the study of different animals and their habitats.

Redeemer’s Summer Camp is open to all student ages 3 through fourth grade and will be held from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Early drop-off will be available at 7:15 a.m. The cost is $120 for each week.
